The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons were looking to snap their losing streak in their final game of the regular season against Fulton City on Saturday. Unfortunately for them, that streak continued with a 49-36 loss to the Lady Bulldogs at home.
Fort Campbell dug themselves a bit of a hole in the first half, as they scored seven points in the first quarter and none in the second. That was compared to 21 in the first two period from the Lady Bulldogs, which game them a sizable lead at the half.
The third quarter was where Fort Campbell’s offense came to life a bit with 10 points. They were led by Kyndal Bradley in the quarter with 11 points, nine of which came from beyond the arc.
But Fulton City was able to scored 17 of their own in the period, which led to the Lady Falcons being down 38-18 going into the final quarter.
Fort Campbell was able to get it going in the fourth with 18 points, but it was just a bit too late. All it took from the Lady Bulldogs to finish out the game was 11 points, and they secured their second straight win, both of them being on the road.
The Lady Bulldogs have now gotten the better of Fort Campbell in their last five meetings, with the last Lady Falcons win being back in December of 2015.
Bradley led Fort Campbell in scoring over the course of the game with 23 points, and she did so with five made shots from beyond the arc. The second leading scorer for the Lady Falcons was A’mari Grimsley with eight points, six of which she got in the second half.
Fort Campbell will be hoping that they can bounce back in their next game against the Lady Tigers of Hopkinsville on Monday, February 23. This will be part of the 8th District Tournament played at Hopkinsville High School, and will tip off at 6 p.m.
