The search for a new boys’ soccer coach at Lyon County is getting underway. That comes after an announcement Tuesday afternoon from former head coach Joe Guess that he would not be returning as coach after five seasons on the job.
In a social media post, Guess stated, “My tenure today as Head Coach with the LCHS soccer has ended. It has been an honor to be with this program. I am still a proud coach of you guys and had a great plan for a successful season this year. However, that just won’t happen with me being your Coach. I honestly believe that you guys are the best and in some way that somehow.”
Guess’ record during his time as head coach of the Lyons was 14-83-1. His best season was in 2022 when Lyon County went 6-17 and won the 5th District championship.
