

The Crittenden County Lady Rockets played the role of a number one seed on its home floor, scoring the first 17 points in Monday’s 60-30 win over Livingston Central.
The victory sets up a championship showdown with Lyon County on Thursday. The Lady Lyons defeated Trigg County 73-54 in the other semifinal.
Crittenden County hit five 3-pointers in the first quarter and 9 of 13 shots overall as they raced out to a 23-5 lead. Livingston’s first points of the game came with 1:50 left in the frame.
Crittenden hit three more treys in the second quarter as they built a 36-13 advantage. The Lady Rockets shot 56% from the floor in the first half and led by as many as 24 points.
Livingston Central, on the other hand, was just 5 of 23 in the first 16 minutes.

Crittenden County also did a good job defensively on Livingston Central’s outside shooters. The Lady Cardinals came into the game averaging just under five three-pointers made a game, but were just 3 of 15 from the outside on Monday.
Crittenden County, meanwhile, hit 12 of 29 from outside the arc and 12 of 28 inside it.
Even more remarkable was that Crittenden County’s thirty-point win came without a single free-throw attempt.
Jordyn Hodge hit 5 of 9 behind the arc and finished with 19 points, while Elliot Evans hit a trio of threes and finished with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Anna Boone scored only 3 points but had 6 rebounds and 5 assists as Crittenden County had 18 assists on 24 made baskets.
In her final game as a Lady Cardinal, Aubrey Leahy finished with 22 points and five rebounds and was the only Lady Cardinal to score in double figures.

The win was Crittenden County’s 25th straight on the court against Livingston Central. Not included was a 2021 forfeit win for Livingston Central when Crittenden County had to bow out of the district tournament due to COVID.
Livingston Central’s season ends at 7-20, while the Lady Rockets improved to 23-5.
Thursday night’s championship game at Rocket Arena will be at 6.30. Crittenden County is trying to repeat as district champs for the third time in program history.
