The wrestling season for Cooper Adams came to an end on Thursday at the KHSAA State Wrestling Tournament.
The Trigg County freshman lost his first two matches by decision in the 144-pound class, one of the toughest in the state.
Adams fell behind early in his opener against Johnson Central’s James Morris and rallied late before losing 14-10. Morris (44-5) advanced to the state semifinals and was third in the 138-pound division last year.
He wrestled Corbin’s Titus Greiwe in the consolation round and fell 8-2.
Adams, who won a middle school state title last year, finished his first full varsity season with a 23-5 record.
