A happy night for Nick Suttle when the Lady Rebels beat Warren East in the 2024 4th Region Tournament

Just two seasons ago, Nick Suttle had the Todd County Central Lady Rebels playing in the 4th Region championship game with a trip to Rupp Arena on the line. Monday afternoon, he became a coach without a team as Todd County Central elected to make a change in direction with its girls’ basketball program.

It was confirmed to YourSportsEdge.Com Monday afternoon that Suttle had been let go as the coach of the Lady Rebels. Suttle, a Drakesboro native, was hired as the Lady Rebel head coach in May 2022, after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant to Mike Harper at Muhlenberg County.

Subtle’s first team in 2022-2023 went 13-13 with the season ending in the 13th District semifinals against Logan County.

2023-2024 saw the Lady Rebels finish 19-13. They reached the 13th District finals before losing to Franklin-Simpson. The Lady Rebels then went on a memorable 4th Region tournament run.

Todd County Central upset 26-4 Warren East in the 4th Region opener. The Lady Rebels then came back and knocked off Metcalfe County 51-49 to advance to the region championship game. The Lady Rebels pushed Bowling Green late into the game in the final before the Lady Purples went on to claim a 49-35 win.

Todd County Central finished the 2024-2025 season at 14-13. They again got back to the 4th Region tournament and took Bowling Green down to the final seconds before the Lady Purples hung on for a 37-35 win.

The 2025-2026 season was indeed a bumpy one for the Lady Rebels. Point guard Jordyn Shemwell transferred to a Clarksville school before the season got underway. The Lady Rebels also spent over half of the season from the beginning without JaMya Kay, who had suffered a knee injury. The Lady Rebels wrapped up the year at 4-22, falling to Franklin-Simpson in the 13th District semifinals.

Suttle finishes his four-year tenured with a 50-61 record.

Officials at Todd County Central thanked Suttle for his “dedicated service” and “appreciated all the time and the effort he put in to our student athletes.”
