The Christian County Colonels baseball team finished fifth in the region during the regular season in 2025, so they will be hoping to ride that momentum into 2026. Especially considering the fact that this is the final year that the Colonels will suit up before combining with Hopkinsville High School.
They got off to a very solid start in their first scrimmage against Franklin-Simpson on Monday evening with a commanding 10-2 win on the road.
No Colonel pitched more than an inning, but the most impressive was Andrew Fincham, who struck out the side in his inning to shine.
At the plate, Christian County tallied up nine hits to Franklin-Simpson’s three. Six of those base knocks came from a combination of Gage Montes, Blake Boehman, and Sebastian Dazey, who each tallied two hits. Brayden Turner, Aiden Henson, and Jonathan Lewis got the other three hits with one apiece.
And it was Henson who led the team in RBIs with three, all of which he got from his single that cleared the bases in the top of the eighth inning.
Christian County will be back in action on Saturday, March 14, against Warren East on the road in their second and final scrimmage. First pitch of that game is scheduled for 12 p.m.
