Alexis Herrera‑Lovato has committed to continue her athletic career in both track and cross country at Georgetown College. The Hopkinsville High School senior made the announcement recently on social media.

Herrera‑Lovato has been a strong middle‑distance competitor for Hopkinsville’s track program. Last spring, she qualified for the Class 2A state meet after finishing second in the 800‑meter run, where she placed 12th at the state meet. She has also been a key contributor in Hopkinsville’s middle‑distance relay events.

In cross country, Herrera‑Lovato earned trips to the state meet in multiple seasons. As a junior, she finished eighth at the Class 2A region meet and went on to place 46th at state. Last fall, she placed seventh at region, setting a personal‑best time of 21:36 over the 3.1-mile course and finished 55th at the Class 2A state meet.

Herrera‑Lovato joins her Hopkinsville teammate Lauren Mayes and Madisonville-North Hopkins’ Katie Gillette, who have also committed to Georgetown College’s running programs.

Georgetown College is a private liberal arts institution whose athletic teams — known as the Tigers — compete in the NAIA’s Mid‑South Conference.
