Hopkins County Central senior Lilly Armour signed on Wednesday to continue her academic and athletic careers at Brescia University, committing to play college soccer.
Armour has been one of the Lady Storm’s most productive offensive players in recent seasons, earning All-District and All-Region honors in 2023, 2024, and 2025. She helped lead Hopkins County Central to the region championship match in 2025, finishing her senior season with 25 goals and 14 assists.
As a junior, Armour recorded 30 goals and four assists, and she finished her high school career with 75 goals and 23 assists.
Armour said her familiarity with Brescia head coach Andy Hines and the school’s environment were key factors in her decision.
“I’ve played for this coach before on a travel team, and I really liked him,” Armour said. “The campus is pretty small, which I like, and also it’s not very far from home, which is important to me.”
She said the goal of playing at the collegiate level has been in place for several years.
“I would say probably since around my freshman year, I thought it would be really neat to play at the next level,” she said. “I got on travel teams, higher-level travel teams, and I started getting on recruiting apps, but also the main thing I focused on was just being able to play with both feet.”
Armour said that the emphasis on skill development helped her become a consistent scoring threat and prepared her for the transition to college soccer.
Armour will join teammates Jaci Childress and Destiny Caudill at Brescia as all three signed on Wednesday.
Brescia, an NAIA school located in Owensboro, finished 11-6-1 last season with a roster that included only one senior.
She is currently undecided on her field of study in college. Armour is competing for the Hopkins County Central tennis team this spring as she looks to make a return to the state tournament.
