Lady Blazers Produce Seven Season-Bests at Owensboro Invitational

The University Heights Academy Lady Blazers produced seven season-bests at the Owensboro Invitational on Thursday.

The 800-meter relay team of Emma Dill, Amoree Owens, Kendall Hancock, and Ajae Oatts finished in second place with a season-best 1:51.70.

Ajae Oatts paced UHA in the sprints, finishing fifth in the 100-meter dash in 13.72 and fifth in the 200-meter dash in 28.81.

Kendall Hancock also had a pair of strong finishes, taking eighth in the 200-meter dash in 29.56 and fifth in the 400-meter dash in a season-best time of 1:05.30.

In the hurdles, Dill posted two of the Lady Blazers’ top individual finishes with a pair of season bests. She was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.51 and followed that with a fourth-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles in 51.60.

In the jumps, Palin Hampton recorded a pair of top-four finishes. She placed third in the triple jump with a season-best mark of 30-0 and was fourth in the long jump at 12-10.5.

Elsewhere on the track, Molly Cavinder was 20th in the 100-meter dash in 15.77 and 23rd in the 400-meter dash in 1:19.47, while Rhyss Sallie finished 27th in the 100-meter dash in 18.67.

Audrey Lovell added a 22nd-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:39.38.

In the field events, Lovell finished 20th in the discus with a throw of 44-5 and 19th in the shot put at 16-7.5 – both season bests.

Sallie was 21st in the discus at 31-3 and 21st in the shot put at 16-2.
