Russellville’s Jacob Naylor poured in 34 points to help the Panthers top Todd County Central 71-58 on Senior Night in Elkton on Friday.  The Rebels took the first meeting between the teams in early December, but drop their twelfth-straight to slip to 5-21, 1-5 in 13th-District play.  Russellville picks up its first district victory of the year, and moves to 8-15 overall.

The Panthers jumped out to an early lead, with the Rebels scoring their first basket with over 4 minutes gone to trail 10-2.  But Todd County battled back to trim the lead to a single point going into the second quarter.

Naylor began to take over in the second, almost outscoring the Rebels single-handedly with 11 of the Panthers 22 points.  Todd County scored 12 to trail 34-23 at halftime.

With 3:30 left in the third quarter, the Panthers opened up their first 20-point margin after a steal and score by Jaquis Todd.

However, Todd County wasn’t going quietly on Senior Night, opening the fourth on a 7-2 run to trim the lead to 11 after a Clayte Weathers layup with 6:22 left.  The Rebels would get as close as 10 with just over 2:00 to play, but could never get within single digits.

Seniors Calvery and Weathers were the only Rebels in double figures with 14 and 12, respectively.
