Teenagers deal with a lot of initials these days — ACT. SAT. GPA.

For military students, the initials PCS can bring the most anxiety.  PCS is a Permanent Change of Station. It’s a move from one military installation to another for usually a two to a four-year term.

Fort Campbell eighth-grader Anna Scott was a member of the up-and-coming Lady Falcon swimming team that scored a school-record third-place finish at Sunday’s Region I Meet.

Note the use of the word ‘was.’

Her family is in the midst of a PCS, relocating to Fort Polk, Louisiana from Fort Campbell.  It was supposed to happen last week, but the Scott family chose to wait so that Anna could swim at the region meet.

Scott shined as her 200-yard medley relay team finished in fourth place.  She also brought home a 10th place finish in the 50-yard freestyle and an 11th place finish in the 500-yard freestyle.

It was a good way to go out before the family relocates to Louisiana and Anna enters a new high school that doesn’t have a swim team.

“I’m going to try and get one started. Hopefully, it happens,” she said.

Scott talked about her time at Fort Campbell and the friends she met in the interview below.
