Lady Warriors Fade in Loss at Dawson Springs (w/PHOTOS)

The Heritage Christian Academy girls basketball team was within striking distance after a half at Dawson Springs on Monday, but the Lady Panthers pulled away in the 2nd for a 51-25 Senior Night victory.

Dawson Springs claims its second straight win and third in four tries to improve to 9-16 overall.  The Lady Warriors slip to 1-7 against KHSAA competition and 5-11 on the year with a visit from North Hardin Classical on Tuesday.

Abby Ward got off to a strong start for the Lady Panthers with eight points, and they led 12-8 after the 1st quarter.

The Lady Warriors led 18-14 after Rachel Robson knocked down a short jumper midway through the 2nd, but Dawson Springs closed the half on a 7-0 run to lead 21-18 at the break.

Ward had seven points in the 3rd, and the Lady Panthers outscored HCA 14-4 to take a 35-22 lead into the 4th quarter.

Heritage Christian found points hard to come by in the 4th, and Haley Oldham and Ward each posted four for Dawson Springs to continue to pull away.

The Lady Panthers will look to stretch their winning streak to three on Tuesday when they travel to Union County.
