Cathryn Brown Goes Back-to-Back for Cullan Brown Title

Playing in the tournament held in honor of her older brother, Cathryn Brown birdied three of her final six holes to win the Bluegrass Golf Tour’s Cullan Brown Invitational Tuesday held at the Calvert City Country Club.

The Lyon County High School senior shot a four-over-par 68 Tuesday and finished the two-day event at 5-under par. She defeated Marshall County High School sophomore Katie Roberts by four shots. Roberts carded a one under 71 Tuesday.

Brown’s round Tuesday included seven birdies and a chip-in for eagle on the par-5 ninth hole.

Former Apollo High golfer Macey Brown, who won the 2020 KHSAA state title and is headed to Indianapolis University this fall, finished in third place after defeating Saint Mary High School golfer Ellie Roof in a two-hole playoff.

Madisonville’s Karra Tucker finished in fifth place at six over par, and Caldwell County Senior Claire Knoth finished sixth at 11 over par.

Also finishing tied for eighth place were Logan County’s Abby Grace Forbes, Marshall County’s Skyler Waller, and Bowling Green‘s Ainsley Cruce. They all shot 16 over par.
