Lania Hite’s assault on the opposition’s net continued Thursday night. The Trigg County junior scored five goals to lead the Lady Wildcats to a 9-1 win over Todd County Central at Josh Nichols Field.
Hite’s first goal six minutes into the contest was the 50th of her career and came off a corner kick. Freshman Addison Humphries scored four minutes later to extend Trigg’s lead to 2-0.
For the next 20 minutes, progress had a lull as neither team could capitalize on the looks they got.
Freshman Leiah Hite took a pass from Alyssa Southwood and scored with three minutes left in the half for a 3-0 Lady Wildcat lead.
Todd County Central answered a minute later when Melanie Chamberlain scored off a feed from Hannah Oliver.
Hite scored the first four goals of the second half to put the contest out of reach. She scored two unassisted goals and added markers from Olivia Noffsinger and little sister Leiah.
Hallie Joiner and Zoe Miller both found the back of the net in a three-minute stretch to close out the Lady Wildcat scoring.
Lania Hite now has 54 goals in her career, which ranks fifth in TCHS history.

Todd County Central (0-3) will host University Heights Academy Saturday, while Trigg County (3-1) travels to Lyon County Monday for a district showdown.
