Caldwell County grad Derrin Boyd had a game-high 22 points Saturday afternoon as his Lipscomb Bisons knocked off ASUN-leading Liberty 69-64.
Boyd was seven of 10 from the field, including five of six from 3-point range. He made all three of his free throw attempts.
The former Caldwell County Tiger also grabbed five rebounds and had two assists.

As a team, Lipscomb buried 11 of 24 shots from behind the arc and was a nifty 12 of 13 at the charity stripe.
Saturday’s game was tied eight times — including 30-30 at the break — and featured 17 lead changes.
The Bisons are now 15-10 overall and 7-5 in conference play.

Boyd is averaging 9.9 points and 3.4 rebounds a game.
Lipscomb will hit the road for a two-game road swing starting at Central Arkansas on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. in Conway, Arkansas.
