In what is a great story, Hopkinsville High School senior Floyd Kay will get the chance to continue his track and educational career on the collegiate level. During ceremonies Wednesday morning, Kay signed his paperwork to attend Kentucky Christian University.
The signing comes after Kay reached out to the school expressing his interest to be on the track team for Kentucky Christian. Once the coaches were aware of his interest, they began to look at Kay’s performance on the track and the interest became mutual.
After the signing, Kay spoke with YourSportsEdge about this chance to continue his athletic career and pursue his degree.
During the ceremony, his coach at Hoptown, Jessica Shepherd, and his future coach at Kentucky Christian, Tim Veach, spoke about his past and his future.
