The Trigg County cheer squad finished in fifth place Saturday at the region competition hosted by McCracken County High School.
Trigg scored 86.00 points to finish 1.60 points behind fourth place Hopkinsville. Union County took the region title with 94.60 points.
Unlike sports like golf, fishing, track and field, and cross country with minimum performance standards to address this issue, only the top two teams in each region – regardless of score – advance to the state competition.
