After a stellar career that culminated in a 36-3 season and a 2nd-Region volleyball title for University Heights Academy in 2023, Region Player of the Year Julia Thomas signed to continue her academic and athletic careers at Florida International University on Friday morning in a ceremony at the school.
Thomas racked up huge stats throughout her career, including school records of 349 kills, 100 blocks, and All-State Honorable Mention accolades as a senior.
Located in Miami, FIU plays in Conference USA along with Western Kentucky University. The 13-18 Panthers topped 3rd-seeded Middle Tennessee on Friday night to advance to a CUSA semifinal matchup with New Mexico State on Saturday.
