Aurora Ives finished her Trigg County archery career with a 24th-place finish at the Operation Unite KHSAA State Tournament on Tuesday in Lexington.
The Arrowcat senior had 18 ‘10s’ or shots in the center as part of her 30-shot day. Her final score was 285, equaling her career-best score shot at the region tournament on March 9 when she finished in second place.
Scott sophomore Lexus Goff won the state title with a score of 296.
Ives has only been shooting archery for two years. Her scoring average as a junior was 260. She improved that to 280 in 11 meets this season.
Her score at the KHSAA state tournament is the highest for a Trigg girl since Audie Smith finished in third place in 2021.
