Hunter Patterson’s spring tennis season may take a different path than what the Lyon County senior had originally thought.
Patterson was expected to team with Deven Guess to form one of Lyon’s doubles teams this spring. However, Guess will miss some time with a hand injury, which has bumped Patterson into singles play.
Patterson played a singles match on Friday at Ruff Park in Hopkinsville. He defeated Christian County’s Jeffery Joiner 8-1.
Despite the doubles setback, Patterson said he will continue to play singles or add a new partner if Guess can’t go in preparation for next month’s region tournament on the same Ruff Park courts.
Christian County will host Hopkins County Central on Monday at Ruff Park while Lyon County travels to Fort Campbell.
