Fred Harper is the winningest basketball coach in Todd County Central history, winning 265 games and taking the Rebels to the region title game three times. The 1981 Rebels were 30-4 and survived three close games to win the Second Region championship and advance to the Sweet 16. They beat Union County 55-54 in the opener, Trigg County 56-53 in the semifinals, and edged Henderson County 57-52 for the title.
Before the start of the 1982-83 season, Todd County Central was moved to the Fourth Region by the KHSAA. They would advance to the region championship in 1990, Harper’s last season as coach of the Rebels.
