Fort Campbell 7th-grader Emmie Underwood followed up a Class 1A state cross-country championship with two medals on Thursday at the Clark’s Pump N Shop Class 1A State Track and Field Meet, finishing in 6th place in the 1600-meter run and 2nd in the 3200-meter event with an 11:41.28 – the third fastest time in program history.
Underwood spoke afterward about her day on the track and the end to her career at Fort Campbell.
