John Ross Cardwell found the back of the net four times on Tuesday and Tanner Henderson provided three assists and a goal to lead the Todd County Central boys’ soccer team to a 5-0 victory over visiting Muhlenberg County.

The Rebels only needed three and a half minutes to open the scoring when Henderson was left with an open net after Cardwell’s deflected shot fell into his path.

Just six minutes later, Chris Salazar found Henderson down the left sideline, and he played the ball across for a Cardwell tap-in to double the advantage.  The Rebels made it 3-0 with just under 15 minutes played when Henderson crossed for a Cardwell volley from close range.

Todd Central controlled the second hand from start to finish, allowing the Mustangs a single shot on goal over the final 40 minutes.  Rebel goalkeeper John Mark Campbell made five saves to secure his first career shutout.

Henderson continued to give Muhlenberg problems after the break, and his pass to Cardwell made it 4-0 with 22:30 left to play.  Cardwell finished off his four-goal night with a header off a Salazer corner to round out the scoring with 17:30 left.

Todd Central will look to make it three wins in a row when Lyon County visits on Thursday.  The Rebels lead the series 4-2, with the Lyons taking the last meeting 2-0 in 2020.
