Caldwell’s Girls Rout Todd in Regular-Season Finale

Seven different Lady Tigers scored goals as Caldwell County’s girls ended the regular season with an 8-0 win over Todd County Central Thursday night at Butler Stadium in Princeton.

Aliya Towns had two of Caldwell’s goals as the Lady Tigers head to the postseason with an 8-8 record.

Caldwell will next face Hopkins County Central on Monday in the 7th District semifinals at Madisonville-North Hopkins.

The Lady Tigers led the Lady Rebels just 2-0 at halftime before blowing open the game in the second half and ended the contest early on the eight-goal mercy rule.

Mariah Vickery’s goal on a pass from Nunie Bates in the 68th minute was the game-ender.

Cali Traylor got the scoring started for Caldwell with a penalty kick in the 8th minute.

Towns also added a first-half goal in the 11th minute, punching home a shot in front of the net off a rebound of a Traylor shot.

Towns picked up her second goal early in the second half to make it 3-0.

Harper Ritchey then curved in a corner kick in the 45th minute.

Brooklyn Hillyard scored in the 49th minute to extend the margin to 5-0.

Addie Middleton found the net in the 55th minute.

Karmen Beasly made it 7-0 in the 65th minute.

Todd County Central (4-12-1) showed up shorthanded, so the teams played 8-on-8.

Caldwell is now 5-0 all-time against the Lady Rebels.

Todd will play again on Tuesday, facing Logan County in the 13th District tournament in Elkton.
