
McCracken County held on to hand Trigg County a 44-36 loss in pool play of the Best of the West 7-on-7 Football Tournament on Friday outside the Stadium of Champions.
Trailing 36-34 late in the game, the Mustangs scored a touchdown and added the two-point conversion for a 42-36 lead. On the final drive of the game, McCracken picked off a Trigg pass to add two insurance points and take the eight-point win.
The Wildcats competed in a pool with Logan County, McCracken County, and Clarksville.
Trigg County plays Kenwood Saturday morning at 8:30 in the first game of the BOTW double-elimination bracket.
