The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers made the McLean County Lady Cougars earn one Monday night. Hopkinsville played through four tough sets before falling at Calhoun, three sets to one in an inter-region volleyball contest.
The Lady Tigers pushed the Lady Cougars til the very end in the opening set before dropping a 25-23 decision to go down one set to none.
The second set was another tough one, again with the Lady Cougars taking the win, this time 25-20 to go up two sets to none.
Hopkinsville kept things going by fighting through the third set to take a 25-22 win to pull within two sets to one.
But this one would belong to McLean County, as the Lady Cougars had their best set of the night in the fourth, winning the set 25-16, and taking the match three sets to one.
Another big night at the net for Madysen Taggart, who finished with 16 kills. She now has 165 for the season. She also had 8 digs. Kyleigh Weber was the team leader with nine. Lainey Stewart ended the night with 20 assists.
Hopkinsville (4-17) goes across town Tuesday night for a district contest against Heritage Christian.
