Turnover issues eventually led to the downfall of the Fort Campbell Falcons Tuesday night. Clarksville Northeast finally took full advantage of the Falcon miscues over the final 8 minutes of the game as the Eagles pulled away for a 74-49 win in the opening game of the 2025-2026 season for Fort Campbell.
Thanks to their outside shooting, the Falcons were able to battle toe-to-toe with Northeast early on. Fort Campbell knocked down four 3-pointers in the first 8 minutes as the two teams battled to an 18-18 tie after one.
Four different players made a shot from behind the arc in the opening quarter for Fort Campbell as the Falcons went into the second quarter even up. But then the turnover bug bit, and he bit hard.
Northeast’s pressure defense caused the Falcons all kinds of issues as the second quarter got rolling. Several of those turnovers in the quarter came without the Falcons advancing the ball past the mid-court line. However, even with all the turnover problems, Fort Campbell was only down 37-26 at the break and still within shouting distance of the Eagles.

Not only had the Falcons survived turnover issues in the opening 16 minutes, they had no offensive rebounds and had been outshot at the free throw line 13-0. Outside shooting was helping Fort Campbell in the half as the Falcons knocked down six shots from behind the 3-point line.
Tyreek Anthony and Kyre Ferguson had 8 points each to lead the Falcons in the first half of play.
While the turnover issues did not go away in the second half, the Falcons found a way to fight through them in the early part of the second half and actually pulled to within 40-34. But just as it appeared that Fort Campbell may have been building a little momentum, the Eagles got back to making the Falcons pay for the ballhandling issues.
An 11-2 run pushed the lead out to 51-36 with under three minutes to go in the third. The lead was 56-45 when the quarter ended.

But the turnovers had now finally caught up with the Falcons, who would score just two field goals in the final quarter as Northeast pulled away for the win.
Tyreek Anthony had a double-double to lead the Falcons with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kyre Ferguson also hit double figures with 12 points. Joseph Katz had 8 points and Kingston Martin finished with 7.
Peyton Smith and Destin Jones led Clarksville Northeast with 16 points each.
Two big storylines in the game were the Falcons being outshot 71 to 43 from the field and being outrebounded for the game 43-32.
Fort Campbell (0-1) is back in action Friday night when the Falcons host Crittenden County.
