Caldwell County Wrestlers Place 8th at Coyote Classic

Caldwell County wrestlers claimed two medals while placing eighth out of 27 teams in the Coyote Classic Saturday at West Creek High School in Clarksville.

Donovan Rogers reached the championship match at 150 pounds. Rogers won his first four matches of the day before being pinned late in the finals to finish second.

Dawson Harris took fourth place at 215 pounds. Harris went 5-1 before having to forfeit the third-place match because he had reached his match limit for the day.

In other action for Caldwell, Ethan Klidzejs went 3-2 at 106 pounds. Elijha Kirby was 3-2 at 132. Justin Klidzejs finished 3-2 at 144. Jonathan Cocchi went 3-2 at 157.

Bradley Asher was 4-2 at 165. Jonas Martin finished 2-2 at 190. Braydon Springfield went 2-2 at 285.

Caldwell totaled 118.5 points, which was just behind Christian County, which placed seventh with 135 points.

Grissom High School won the team title with 186.5 points. Host West Creek was runner-up with 168.5.

The Tigers will see dual action at Henderson County on Tuesday. The team will then compete in the dual tournament at Marion, Illinois, on Saturday, Dec. 13.

Caldwell will host the annual Armstrong Duals the following week, Saturday, Dec. 20.
