Both the Heritage Christian Lady Warriors and the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons went into their Friday evening matchup against one another both looking for their first win of the season. It was the latter who was able to complete their mission, as the Lady Falcons were able to get the victory 46-33.

Heritage Christian went down 4-1 in the early going of the quarter, but they were able to string together a few scores and take a 5-4 lead halfway through the period. After a Fort Campbell free throw, HCA’s Allison Craft made back-to-back buckets to then make it 9-5.

After a few more minutes, the Lady Falcons were able to get a couple of steals, and Kyndal Bradley was able to score off of both of them. This gave Fort Campbell an 11-10 lead going into the next quarter.

There were just seven combined points halfway through the second period, and the game was tied at 14 points apiece. The only points after that were a Sophie Arvin free throw for the Lady Warriors and a couple of layups by Fort Campbell to make it 18-15 in favor of the Lady Falcons at the half.

Fort Campbell started out the third quarter fairly hot with a 6-0 run to force an early timeout by Heritage Christian. Then after a bit, Bradley was able to make a three to extend the Lady Falcons’ lead to nine points at a timeout with three minutes left.

The lead got all the way to 13, but it stood at 12 by the buzzer at the end of the third sounded.

Fort Campbell’s Bradley got it going in the fourth and final quarter with an and-one to extend the lead to 15. After a few more buckets and another Bradley three, that lead had gotten all the way to 20, and the Lady Falcons had the momentum.

The lead went down a bit in the fourth, but Fort Campbell was able to close it out and get their first win of the season.

They also did this while getting outrebounded 37 to 20, but the Lady Falcons got the win with their 20-53 shooting from the field compared to HCA’s 11-45.

The leading scorer for Fort Campbell was Bradley with 23, and she did so with three made shots from beyond the arc. Saniyah Bell was also able to contribute seven points of her own.

Craft led the way for the Lady Warriors with 14 points, eight of which came in the first half. Ava DeJager was also able to put up eight points, getting to the rim quite a few times.

This is now the fourth straight time that Fort Campbell has beat Heritage Christian, as the last time the Lady Warriors won was back in December of 2023. They will have a chance to get back at the Lady Falcons when they play them again later this season on January 29.

But for now, the Lady Warriors will be looking to get their first of the season on Saturday, January 17, against Louisville Collegiate. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. at Cloverport.

As for Fort Campbell, they will be hoping to start a win streak in their next game against Fort Knox on Saturday, January 17. Their game will tip off at 12 p.m. at Fort Campbell High School.
