A fast start quickly faded for the Fort Campbell Falcons, as cold shooting and a relentless opponent led to a 65-22 loss to the Warren East Raiders on Thursday night, dropping Fort Campbell to 1-8 on the season.
A’mari Grimsley did her part to keep Fort Campbell within striking distance early, scoring seven of her team-high 15 points in the opening quarter. Still, the Falcons trailed by 10 after the first.
From there, Warren East (10-12) never let the game tighten. The Raiders shot 46% from the field (22 of 47) and kept the pressure on as the lead steadily grew.
Warren East placed three players in double figures, with Autumn Brooks leading the way with 15 points.
Fort Campbell will try to bounce back next Thursday at home against Webster County. Warren East faces a quick turnaround, hosting Monroe County on Friday night.
