Lady Falcons Take 8th Place at Cobra Classic

Fort Campbell’s girls track and field team finished in eighth place at the Kirkwood Cobra Classic on Saturday in Clarksville.

As a team, Fort Campbell totaled 25 points in the 16-team field. They were one of three Kentucky schools in the event.

The top finish of the day for Fort Campbell came in the 1600-meter relay, where the Lady Falcons placed second in 4:30.43. Fort Campbell also took fourth in the 3200-meter relay with a time of 11:22.54 and finished seventh in the 800-meter relay in 1:56.12.

Individually, Abby Roberts posted one of the team’s top finishes in the distance events, placing sixth in the 1600-meter run in 6:15.42. Lillian Ketterl added a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:41.89.

In the sprints, Mylah Sawyer led Fort Campbell in the 100-meter dash, finishing 16th with a time of 14.29. Johniyah Coleman finished 24th at 14.92, while Genevieve Perry was 33rd in 15.53.

In the 400-meter dash, Aspen McWilliams paced the Lady Falcons with a 13th-place finish in 1:10.76, while Hannah Madsen was 21st in 1:13.23. McWilliams also competed in the 800 meters, placing 19th in 3:10.10.

In the hurdles, Ava Moore placed 22nd in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.02, and Taylor Finch was 23rd in 1:03.34. Charlotte Morehead added a 22nd-place finish in the 1600-meter run in 7:52.16.

Jumping Events

Fort Campbell saw two top-10 finishes in the jumping events, both coming in the high jump.

Taylor Finch led the way by clearing 4-6 to place sixth, while Ava Moore followed closely with a seventh-place finish after clearing 4-4.

In the long jump, Jaleighyna Cabrera recorded a leap of 8-4 and finished 15th.

Throwing Events

In the field throwing events, Cyri Reed posted Fort Campbell’s best discus finish, placing 16th with a throw of 63-4. Jaelynn Johnson was 19th in discus at 56-2, and Aria Welsh finished 24th with a mark of 51-4.

Johnson also competed in the shot put and placed 31st with a throw of 18-0. Welsh added a 32nd-place finish in the shot put at 17-0, while Noelle Welsh was 34th with a throw of 16-1.
