The Lyon County boys’ soccer team ended a nine year 5th District championship drought when they knocked off rivals Trigg County in the final. The Lyons posted a 9-9-1 record, their first non-losing season since 2011. They scored 67 goals and allowed 58, losing to Webster County in the first round of the 2nd Region tournament. The Lyons haven’t won a game in the regional tournament since 2006.
The Lyons graduated 5 seniors, but bring back significant firepower in leading scorer Bryson Penn (34 goals) and second leading scorer Trace Adams (10 goals). They will be looking for their first back to back district title wins since 2006-2007.
