
Owensboro scored the first 21 points of the game and didn’t look back in handing Christian County their first loss of the season 82-43 Tuesday in Owensboro. The Colonels drop to 3-1 on the year, while Owensboro improves to 3-2.
Colonels’ senior forward Detorrion Ware entered the game averaging 36 points a game, but had a bit of a slow night with 19. Junior forward Fred Tandy was also held below his 13.7 average, managing 7, with JaQuon Long falling short of his usual 12.3, scoring 5. Junior guard Nate McGregor had 8 points, and senior Jordan Johnson and sophomore Shay Stowe both had 2.
The Colonels face Russellville (2-2) on Friday in the Toyota of Hopkinsville Classic, and are back on the court Saturday to play undefeated Mayfield (3-0).
