The Christian County Lady Colonels should get a good gauge of where they stand at this point in the season during this week’s Murray Bank Lady Tiger Classic. The pool play event will get started Thursday evening at Murray High School.
Christian County will play the first game of the tourney Thursday at 4:30pm when they take on Lincoln County. The Lady Patriots head into Murray with a record of 8-2. Their only losses came last week in the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic. Lincoln County dropped a 14-point decision to Murray, and lost a 2-point heartbreaker to Ryle.
One of the highlight games of the tournament will take place Friday, when the Lady Colonels take on the host Murray Lady Tigers. Murray, the defending 1st Region champions, who lost in the semifinals of last year’s Sweet 16, enters the week at 9-2. They lost their season opener to South Warren in overtime, and then lost last week to Male in the championship of th Traditional Bank Holiday Classic.
The final games, including the championship game of the Lady Tiger Classic are set for Saturday.
Christian County heads into the event at 10-2, with their only losses coming on the road at Bullitt East, and to Dyersburg, Tennesse, in the Donnie Watkins Christmas Classic at Muhlenberg County. The two losses are by a combined six points.
