Rebels Fall to Warren East in Second Tournament Outing

The Todd County Central boys’ basketball team lost 76-53 to Warren East on Friday at the South Central Bank-Halton Classic at Allen County- Scottsville.  After opening the tournament with a 59-50 overtime win over the hosts, the Rebels slip to 7-5 on the year with the loss.  Warren East improves to 9-4 and have won 9 of their last 10.

The Rebels fell behind early, getting outscored 22-7 in the first quarter, but responded by topping the Raiders by 8 points in the second quarter.  Warren East led 34-27 at the half.  Senior guard Nolan Barrow scored 9 first-half points to lead the Rebels, followed by senior guard Tashaun Foster with 6, and junior center Jon Calvery with 5.

The Raiders decided the game in the third quarter, holding the Rebels to 11 points while scoring 21 to stretch their lead to 17 going into the fourth quarter.  Warren East cruised in from there, outscoring Todd County 21-15 in the final quarter to win 76-53.

Barrow led the Rebels in scoring with 12, with Foster the only other Rebel in double figures with 11.  Calvery and sophomore guard Dominique Morrow both chipped in 7, followed by sophomore guard Austin Rager with 5.  Junior guard Clayte Weathers and sophomore guard Bryce Nolan both had 3 points, with senior center Collin Sharp and sophomore guard Deonte Toliver getting a basket each.

The Rebels wrap up tournament play with a match-up with 6-6 Greenwood at 1:30 on Saturday.
