A two sport athlete at Christian County High School has announced he will continue his athletic career and his education at Kentucky Wesleyan College. In a tweet early Friday morning, Diion Leavell announced his commitment to the Panther football and wresting programs.

During his senior season for the Christian County football team, Leavell had a breakout year, rushing for 500 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Leavell finished 3rd in the state in his weight class as a junior. As a senior, he finished second in his weight class, losing to Caldwell County’s Dylan Gray in the final.

In addition to playing for Coach Brent Holsclaw and the KWC football team, Leavell will be a member of the first ever wrestling team at Kentucky Wesleyan. The school announced in October that it was adding wresting for the 2018-2019 school year. Kentucky Wesleyan joins Urbana next season with sports sponsorship, making them the 60th and 61st division II schools to sponsor wrestling.
