Caldwell County’s Katie Franklin held the potent offense of the Central Hardin Lady Bruins in check over seven innings on Saturday, allowing a single hit on the way to a 5-0 win in the McCracken County Round Robin.  The Lady Tigers have won three of four to close the regular season at 15-10, while the Lady Bruins lose their second straight to stand at 26-8 overall.

The Lady Tigers took a 2-0 lead in their first at-bat, taking advantage of a Central Hardin error before Mashea Glover stole home.  Glover did the rest of the damage in the fifth, launching a 3-run homer to right field for the final 5-0 score.

Franklin went the distance for the win, striking-out eight and issuing a couple of walks.  Franklin, Emma Staples, Haley Stiles, and Glover each had a hit, with Glover driving-in 3.

Eleecia Hager took the loss for the Lady Bruins, pitching 7.0 innings and allowing 5 runs, 4 earned, on four hits with seven strikeouts and three walks.

The Lady Tigers begin postseason play on Tuesday with a 7th District tournament game against Hopkins County Central.  Caldwell won both regular-season meetings with the Lady Storm.
