Caldwell County’s girls avenged a loss from earlier this season for the second straight day.

The Lady Tigers knocked off Marshall County 4-2 on Friday at Lady Tiger Field in Princeton. Earlier this month, Caldwell fell to the Lady Marshals 13-6 in Draffenville.

On Thursday, Caldwell blanked Graves County 9-0 after bowing to the Lady Eagles 9-7 earlier this year.

Alexis Wood allowed just three base hits while picking up the pitching win on Friday. She struck out four and did not walk a batter.

Caldwell (13-11) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Brylee Butts walked to lead off and later came in on a grounder to short by Adley Lewis.

Marshall (17-9) tied things in the top of the fourth on a sacrifice fly to center by Allicen Harris.

The Lady Tigers regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth with three runs.

One run came in when Butts’ grounder to shortstop was booted. Caldwell made it 3-1 when Madison French scored on the back end of a double steal with Butts. Harper Holeman followed with an RBI double to stake the Lady Tigers to a 4-1 lead.

Marshall got its second run in the seventh inning when Trinlee Anderson hit a sacrifice fly to center. However, Caldwell got another runner in a rundown between second and third, resulting in the third out of the inning and the end of the contest.

Alicia Stanley was 2-for-3 with a double for the Lady Tigers. Maci Tyler was 2-for-4.

Caldwell’s girls will play their third-straight 1st Region opponent on Monday when they travel to McCracken County.
