Mark Salmons wanted to give his new bride a diamond, and boy did he deliver. Salmons and Angela Grace — both huge fans of the Hoptown Hoppers — were married Monday before the Hoppers’ playoff game with Paducah at Christian County’s Colonel Field.
With family, friends, fans, and the Hoppers watching on, the Hopkinsville couple exchanged vows at home plate of Colonel Field. Angela even had walk-up music to the wedding festivities — John Fogerty’s “Centerfield.”
The couple are a host family to Hopper pitcher Sam Traver, who served as Mark’s best man.
In a fitting end to the night, the Hoppers delivered the best wedding present possible for the newlyweds — a walk-off win to take a 1-0 series lead in the Ohio Valley League semifinals.
