Lady Colonels Move Above .500 in Win at Lyon

Christian County continued their strong play of late as they handed Lyon County a 5-1 loss Tuesday in girls’ soccer action at Lee S. Jones Park in Eddyville.

Freshmen Emma Fleming and Lillie Larkins each scored twice for the Lady Colonels, and Lexi Hendrix added a goal as well for Christian County, who improved to 4-3 with the win. It took the Lady Colonels 15 matches to reach four wins last year. In fact, Christian County has now won eight of their last 14 matches after losing 12 of their previous 14.

Peyton Hale had 10 saves in goal for the Lady Colonels.

Lyon County freshman Rose Smith tallied the lone goal for the Lady Lyons, who have alternated wins and losses in their five games.

Lyon County (2-3) will host Crittenden County Thursday in a rematch of their All-A Classic region game won by the Lady Lyons 11-1.

Christian County will host Trigg County Thursday.
