Union County tightened the defensive clamps in the second half to hand Dawson Springs an 80-41 loss Saturday in Morganfield.
Kale Gaither sparked a first half surge that saw the Braves lead 22-10 after one quarter and 49-30 at halftime. Gaither scored 21 of his game-high 30 points in the first half for the Braves. He also had nine assists and eight rebounds.
Dawson Springs managed just five points in the third quarter and six in the fourth frame in getting outscored 31-11 in the second half by the Braves (3-3).
Skyler Clark led the Panthers with 15 points, and Landon Pace added nine points.
Dawson Springs (4-4) will host McLean County Thursday at the Panther Pit.
