Lyon County came up with two goals in the final 9 minutes to knock off Caldwell County 2-1 in semifinal round action in the boys’ 2nd Region All ‘A’ Classic soccer tournament.

Lyon (2-5-1) will host University Heights Academy for the regional championship on Thursday. The Blazers (3-1) routed Fort Campbell 11-1 in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Lyon needed to rally late to punch its ticket to the regional final.

Caldwell took a 1-0 lead in Tuesday’s competitive contest in Eddyville with a goal in the 62nd minute.

Grayden Miller got behind the Lyon defense after taking a pass from Blake Vivrette, and scored into the right side of the net to put the Tigers on top 1-0.

Caldwell (1-6) then just missed twice with a chance to extend its lead — one shot hitting the right post and another banging off the crossbar.

Lyon tied things in the 71st minute. A long free kick by Levi Willis bounced through the penalty area and found its way into the net to knot the score at 1-1.

The Lyons then went in front in the 77th minute, getting a penalty kick from Todd Huddleston that proved to be the game-winner.

Lyon held a 21-19 advantage in shots in the contest.

Cole Schroeder made 14 saves in the Lyon net while Josh Hagan made 10 stops for Caldwell.
