Trigg County went 3-1-1 Saturday at the Armstrong Wrestling Duals at Caldwell County, with their only loss coming to McCracken County.

Trigg picked up wins over Hopkinsville (42-36), Christian County (42-36), and Owensboro (54-24).  The Wildcats tied John Hardin 42-42 and fell to McCracken County 72-12.

Colin Stevens wrestled at 170 and was the only Trigg wrestler to go 5-0 on the day.

Timmy Cannon (113) went 4-1 on the day, while Thomas Bruce (126) put together a 3-1 day on the mat.

Other Trigg wrestlers and their record on the day were Domanik Lee (145) 2-2; Ty Saez (285) 2-3; Anthony Hall (160) 1-1; Jack Lingenfelter (182) 1-1; Matthew Smith (152) 1-2; Caleb Kline (106) 1-3; and Gavin Kline (106) 0-1.

“Giving up four weight classes every time we faced another team was tough, but we had a good tournament,” said Coach Ralph Stevens. “We’ve got a lot of first year and second year wrestlers and some middle schoolers wrestling up. Everybody really stepped up and wrestled hard.”

Trigg County will compete at the Christian County Invitational Saturday.
