
Franklin-Simpson used their accuracy from deep to knock down nine 3-pointers on their way to a 54-25 district win over Todd County Central Friday in Elkton.
Kate Norwood hit a trio of threes in the first quarter as the Lady Cats jumped out to an 18-6 lead. Todd County found their footing in the second quarter and played on an even keel, trailing 27-14 at halftime.
Evyn McCutchen hit a pair of 3-pointers in the third quarter to help Franklin-Simpson score 21 of the first 24 points of the third quarter and build a substantial 48-17 lead after 24 minutes.
Todd County got six points from Shelby Johnson and four each from Jordan Weathers, Eliza Simons, and Emoni Fort.
The Lady Rebels fell to 0-2 in district play, while Franklin-Simpson improved to 2-1 and moved into second place behind district leader Logan County.
Todd County Central will travel to Glasgow for a Fourth Region showdown with the Lady Scotties.
