For the third straight week, Emma Talley will play the weekend. Talley shot a 2-over-par 73 in the second round of the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Troon on Friday.
That put her at 8-over through 36 holes and in a tie for 52nd place — easily sliding in under the cutline at 9-over.
The former Caldwell County standout and national champion at the University of Alabama, had four bogeys and two birdies during the second round.
Talley scrambled well after hitting just nine of 14 fairways. She hit 13 of 18 greens in regulation and needed 34 putts for the second straight day.
Talley will tee off in the third round at 9:47 a.m. Saturday in Scotland — 3:47 a.m. in the Central time zone.
Sweden’s Dani Holmqvist is the only player under par after two rounds. She enters the weekend at 1-under par after a solid round of 70 in the second round.
Holmqvist holds a one-shot edge over Austin Ernst and Sophia Popov
