Hopkinsville Splits Saturday Volleyball Matches

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers had a pair of three set matches Saturday, one going their way, one going the way of their opponent. The Lady Tigers to Graves County for a match against the Lady Eagles, and a match against St. Mary.

In the match against Graves County, the Lady Tigers had trouble getting started in the match and never quite recovered as they fell three sets to none. The Lady Eagles cruised through the opening set 25-4. Hopkinsville got things going a bit more their way in the second set, but still fell 25-14.

Graves County then closed out the match, taking the 3rd set 25-12.

Taking on St. Mary, the Lady Tigers had to fight hard for the first two sets as they came away with the match win three sets to none.

The first set was a battle from the outset. Hopkinsville would finally take the set 26-24. The second set was more of the same, with the Lady Tigers holding off St. Mary 25-23.

Hoptown won the 3rd set to close out the match with a little bit more breathing room, 25-17.

With the split on Saturday, Hopkinsville’s record stands at 2-4 on the season. The Lady Tigers are scheduled to return to action Monday at Christian County.
