To go along with their decision over the weekend to postpone the 2021 Girls’ All A Classic State Tournament, All A Classic officials announced the bracket for the tournament. The event is now scheduled for February 16-21 at Eastern Kentucky University.
For the 2nd Region winner, it will mean another tough opening round draw. The 2nd Region is matched up against the 9th Region in the opening round. Teams in the 9th Region are Beechwood, Bellevue, Covington Latin, Dayton, Heritage, Covington Holy Cross, Ludlow, Newport, Newport Central Catholic, St. Henry, and Villa Madonna.
The 2020 9th Region winner was Newport Central Catholic, who lost in overtime in the opening round of last year’s state tournament.
The last time the 2nd Region met the 9th Region in the tournament was in the opening round of the 2016 tourney when Livingston Central fell to Newport Central Catholic.
For the 4th Region winner, the first round has a matchup against their border region to the east, the 12th Region. Teams in the 12th Region are Burgin, Danville, Danville Christian, Somerset, and Somerset Christian. Danville has won the last eight 12th Region All A titles.
