Defending girls’ state golf champion Macey Brown opened the Bluegrass Golf Tour season with a five-shot win Saturday at the Calvert City Country Club.
The Apollo High School junior shot a 2-over 74, recording two birdies and four bogeys in her round.
Graves County junior Ellie West finished second with a 7-over 79. After making the turn at +7, West settled down and shot even-par over her final nine holes which included three birdies.
Madison McClusky of Harrisburg, Illinois finished third at +11.
Caldwell County sophomore Claire Knoth finished fourth with a round of 86. She improved two shots over her final nine holes compared to the first nine.
Logan County sophomore Abby-Grace Forbes finished fifth at +15. She improved three shots over her final nine holes.
Javen Campbell of Almo was sixth at +25, followed by Louisville’s Riley Jarrell at +26, and Frankfort’s Savannah Salchli in eighth at +29.
