The Hopkinsville softball team scored 4 or more runs in four straight innings Tuesday night to race past hosts Fort Campbell 21-9.

Just a week ago the two teams played to a 5-2 win for the Lady Tigers, but errors on both sides led to a high-scoring second meeting.

Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the 2nd, Fort Campbell surged in front 4-2 on a pair of 2-run errors.  The Lady Tigers got a run in the 3rd and then built a 10-4 advantage on four Lady Falcon errors and an RBI single by Daijha Owen.

Danika Gonzalez and Kiley McCrary singled in a run each and the Lady Blazers got back into it with 3 in the 4th, but Hoptown blew the game open when 3 runs crossed ahead of an inside-the-park home run by Karli Herrera to double up UHA 14-7.

Taylor Joachim opened the Lady Tiger 6th with a triple and they followed with 7 runs in the frame for the final margin.

Hannah Thorson and Kylie Daniels combined in the circle for Hoptown, allowing 9 runs, 3 earned, on only 2 hits with 10 walks and 11 strikeouts.

Daniels finished with 3 RBI and Thorson and Herrera had 2 each, with Owen going 3/4 at the plate.  Jakayla Grubbs and Owen each had an RBI.

Kiley McCrary took the loss for the Lady Falcons and was relieved for the last one and a third by Carrie McCrary.  Gonzalez had 2 RBI and Carrie McCrary and Alexis Alaniz each drove in one.
