Hopkinsville High senior Ella Falco overcame the obstacles thrown at her during her final swim season and celebrated her signing with Birmingham-Southern Thursday at Tiger Gym.
Falco won region titles in both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle in 2021 and was a region champion 200-yard free relay team member. She was named the 2021 female region outstanding swimmer.
Falco finished second in the 200-yard free in the two seasons previous and has eight first or second-place finishes at the regional level in her four high school seasons.
Birmingham-Southern is a private liberal arts college that competes at the NCAA Division III level. The Panthers are a member of the Southern Athletic Association and won its fifth consecutive conference championship in February.
